Go behind the scenes at the Byers' Choice LTD. Chalfont, Pa - September 29 & 30, 2007 - Join over 4,000 Byers’ Choice Caroler® enthusiasts from across the country for a special two-day "Handcrafted in America" festival including rare behind-the-scenes tours and unique opportunities to create your own Caroler or nativity set, enjoy a Christmas Tea luncheon, meet local and national American crafters, and participate in auctions of rare pieces. Byers’ Choice will host their behind-the-scenes event allowing participants to interact with the artisans who bring the beloved Carolers to life with their creative attention to detail making each of these handcrafted, decorative figurines so unique. Joyce Byers, the creator of the Caroler figurines, will greet fans and personally sign their figurine keepsakes. Byers' Choice has held similar events three other times since the 1994 opening of the Byers’ Choice Christmas Museum. Caroler fans from as far away as California to New England have already made their reservations and look forward to their rare behind-the-scenes tour and the overall excitement of celebrating the tradition and quality of the Carolers with thousands of fellow aficionados. Other fun activities will include live demonstrations from nationally recognized handicraft artisans including Lynn Haney (www.lynnhaney.com) , Longaberger Basket Company (www.longaberger.com) and Vaillancourt Folk Art (www.valf a.com) among several others. Visitors who reserve early will have the opportunity to work with Byers' Choice artisans themselves to design their own one-of-a-kind Caroler by selecting attire, head, hair color, and accessories. Artisans will also help families assemble their own nativity sets. “Come out and be creative with us,” says Jeff Byers, Vice President of Marketing. “We encourage people to make their own holiday family heirlooms with the help of our talented artisans.” Scheduled events include a daily Christmas Tea luncheon complete with finger sandwiches and sweets. Guided small group factory tours will leave every ten minutes throughout the day, both days, and every participant has an opportunity to enter the free raffle drawing to win retired and limited edition Byers’ Choice figurines. “This event is unique,” says Bob Byers, Jr., President, “as it brings together a gathering of people who appreciate quality handicrafts as an art form.” He also invites guests to walk the award-winning grounds, enjoy the sculptures, and to do their Christmas shopping early as his mother, Joyce, will have lots of "surprise" Caroler designs available for sale in her Gift Emporium. Events will take place each day from 9 am to 5 pm. Tours are free although reservations are required. Additional fees charged for luncheon and Caroler & Nativity Heirloom creations.
